Our cafe has been affectionately described as “a coffee nerds shed” and this is something that sits with us very well.
Bar 9 began as a grassroots espresso bar situated in the city fringe suburb of Eastwood, SA with one goal in mind, QUALITY. We’ve done everything in our power to provide you with only the best; if we aren’t proud to serve it, we simply won’t supply it at all. Our promise to you is a quality focused cafe designed to showcase only the very best that specialty coffee has to offer.
We roast our own coffee on site, as well as maintaining a custom house blend by 5 Senses Coffee.
The full bodied milk we use is best described as the sort of milk your grandma’s grandma used to enjoy. From Lobethal in the Adelaide Hills, Tweedvale’s minimal processing, and cows reared with love (not $$ in mind) lead to a greatly superior product that is evident from the first sip. This ethos pretty well sums up our approach to food and produce.

In our seven years of being around, we’ve had the privilege of watching many of our staff and even customers go on and litter the Adelaide landscape with much of its finest coffee drinking establishments. With the exception of only 2, every state barista champion in South Australia has worked for us at some point, and we’re honoured to be so engrossed in the specialty coffee scene of South Australia.
We’ve grown from the tiny little tin shed into a multi venue, multi faceted and dynamic business with an underlying social ethos set about enabling life’s best work.
